Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (on deck: Twilight Princess)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (current: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

THE HERO OF TIME

The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time 3D: Master Quest - https://youtu.be/jJKukNeUDaI

We're dungeon delving across time itself.

I have to say, the Spirit Temple is definitely the most creative of the dungeons, even without talking about Master Quest. Shadow Temple used the Lens of Truth about as much as normal (contrast with Bottom of the Well!) but normally you don't need to go back to child halfway through the adult section of Spirit Temple just so you can get a small key. Using Farore's Wind to avoid having to backtrack was definitely a smart move, though.

Speaking of the mid-dungeon swap, while it certainly makes sense that things you do as child Link would still be present as an adult, pressing that rusty switch for the small key chest certainly does not make sense. Only child Link can grab that chest; it's not a matter of me not finding the route in for adult Link. But that means that, just as the items we're holding can cross time with us, so can items with which we interact. At least, as long as a treasure chest is involved. Time-insensitive treasure chests were not on my bingo card. That's solidly Chrono Trigger territory.

I don't think I need to say a whole lot here about the story, because the game does a good job explaining it, even with the time travel thrown in. Bongo-Bongo was sealed at the Bottom of the Well, but we released it inadvertently when we broke the windmill as a child just to get at the Lens of Truth required for the Shadow Temple. Impa stuck a rock in the well to try sealing it anyway, but with no water being drawn it was a temporary seal at best. Whoopsie. Meanwhile, with Nabooru, she recognizes that Ganondorf is really, really evil, even compared to the Gerudo that make their livings thieving. She wanted to destroy Twinrova even as far back as before Ganondorf got the Triforce; it's just a shame that she lost that fight. Good thing adult Link can use the Silver Gauntlets!
