Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (on deck: Twilight Princess)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (current: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

LOTS AND LOTS OF FOOD

Super Mario Odyssey - https://youtu.be/KmM2_Q3O1T0

I suppose if you're planning a wedding, you'll need food. Lots of food, if Bowser is inviting his army…

Most kingdoms don't really have a whole lot extra after you finish the story in them. Sure, there's plenty to explore, and plenty of side rooms, but they don't just open up a second map. Except in the Snow Kingdom. Obviously, I didn't do it, since I'd already gotten all the moons to move on, but the starting location normally has a blizzard going that just completely clears up after you finish the race. While you technically could explore with the blizzard, the limited visibility makes that too much of a chore. We'll have a lot to get back to when I do my second visit.

Also, can I just say how awesome it is that you get to fight a full-size lightning dragon in this game? Only once, yes, and afterward the dragon is sorta just hanging there for all time, but it's still really cool. I also like the coloration they used: it's the color of actual lightning. (Specifically, it's the color of light given off by superheated air. You usually think of lightning as bright white, but that's just because there's so much light that you can't really pick out the color. I guess this lightning is low-power.)

Yes, we'll be visiting Bowser's Kingdom in this game. However, we've already had a lava-themed area, even if it wasn't quite as deep red as those normally get. Bowser has something else for his kingdom's theme. It's more… Japanese.

There are only four "kingdoms" left, and two are post-game. That means we're definitely finishing off the first part of the playthrough next time. I hope I can get all 880 moons? But as I've said, I'll just attempt all 880. The makers of this game certainly made things hard enough on some that I don't think I'll care to actually do so. Thankfully, they didn't lock the "hardest" challenge behind 100% again.
