Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (on deck: Twilight Princess)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (current: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

Finding "forward" is even harder this way.

Prior to reaching this continent, there were very few "hub" areas. Not much in between. You just fast traveled to exactly where you needed to go, with no running around looking for progress. That's not to say I dislike these areas; it's just that they do slow the game down. If you've watched me play a Xenoblade game (especially the Erythia Sea region of Xenoblade 3), you know that's not a big deal to me, but I could totally see it losing other, more rushed players that don't like to explore every nook and cranny. And to the developers' credit, each of these spaces is actually very dense. It's just that the combat takes up a ton of time so the regions feel much larger than they are.

Unfortunately, my mic was muted for the entire time I was viewing the memory, but the important part is that now I know why the Heroes are evil. I was wondering why these people who actually saved the day might be fighting against me. Was my empire inherited from the bad guy? Were they twisted in dimensional transit? Are they actually the Heroes?

Well, now I know. They did some kind of magic to boost their abilities (probably by absorbing the traits of the monsters they killed, based on how it sounds) and it transformed them in body and mind. Really stinks, but they needed to do that in order to save their world in the short time they had, so I guess it makes sense. Meanwhile, I kicked the Termite Queen's keister, but that's at Era 7 of the empire with inheritance magic so I wasn't in nearly as much of a rush as they were. I wonder how many eras there are?
